I have been singing for as long as I can remember. Thoughts became poems, poems became lyrics and before you know it a few chords on the guitar and I had a song.
Everybody has a passion...some have dreams...
I have the passion to follow my dream...

I started in New England now I live just outside of Nashville....and to me it's a dream come true.
Some that have lived here all their lives take so much in stride. To someone like me, that know's what it's like to fight for what you need, and to battle to keep what you have, I am living proof that dreams do happen, and wishes can come true.

In the early stages of her singing career, Lauri kept her originals close to her heart, sharing them only with a chosen few. She married her best friend in September of 1987 after both of them had survived bitter divorces and found the true meaning of love in each other. With two children from her first marriage, they added two more to their nest. Lauri was wife and mother first, but always kept a guitar close by. Her children were raised to the sounds of her music and the soothing voice in her lullaby’s. Occasionally singing in clubs and café’s in the north shore cities and towns of Massachusetts, Lauri never let her passion for singing, or songwriting dwindle away.
However, in 1992, Lauri’s husband Steve, collapsed with a ruptured brain aneurysm. With the love and support of her family and friends, Lauri was able to spend each day of the next three months at her husbands side while he recovered. Once home, Lauri transcribed journals she had kept during that nightmare into a novel. “Can You Feel My Tears”, a self published memoir, has been sold not only across the United States, but into Canada, Great Britain, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, as well as being available still on Amazon.com. A poignant account of each day her husband battled back from death’s door, Lauri‘s book has done what she wanted it to do, and that was to let other‘s know how the strength of family and faith can conquer even death.
In 2005, Lauri’s husband Steve decided it was time for Lauri to follow her dreams. They sold their home in New England and moved to Nashville. She quickly made her way into the songwriting circles and captured the hearts of many with her powerful voice. Her voice is unique and the lyrics to her songs send a message to her audience. Lauri is here to stay. She has been described as being able to rock you like Janice Joplin and croon you Patsy Cline. Lauri does anything but disappoint.
Realm Records International, an independent record label based in Virginia, has recently signed Simpli Lauri. Her debut CD titled “Leave the Porch Light On” will be released in July of 2007. With ten tracks, some of which she is proud to say were co-written with her husband, her music is already being well received in many of the countries that her book has circulated, such as Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Great Britain and Austria.
Realm Records states “This Nashville singer-songwriter is much more than a great voice. Much more than a great songwriter. She is a master story teller who spins beautiful melodies and great poetic images within her songs.”
